Slavery ownership was common in biblical times. The Bible defines the legal status of slaves, the economic status of slaves, and different types of slaves, including but not limited to, debt slaves. The Bible stipulates the treatment of slaves in the Old and New Testaments.
Ruling Class
Marxist philosophy maintained the dominant cultural, norms, and traditions ideology. The dominant group of society, owned slaves, enslaved those in debt to them, bought their fellow citizens’ daughters as concubines which are a woman with whom a man cohabits without being married: such as, one having a recognized social status in a household below that of a wife as men were slaves to work on their fields.
Let’s Dive Deeper Below are the distinct forms of slavery
Debt-slavery (Bible) vs. Chattel Slavery. (American)
Chattel slavery is a form of slavery without redemption, including but not limited to, Pagan slavery is chattel slavery; its purpose is only to keep a certain class of people in subjugation while maintaining another class in a position of power. It has no ethical/judicial purpose; it is pure worship of power, in favor of the powerful of the day. Southern slavery, despite the attempts of some Christians and to whitewash it, was a pagan slavery of the worst possible kind. We are under obligation to declare this openly, as part of our preaching of justice in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Debt Slavery is different
[Borrowing + interest = more debt] [income – more debt = less savings & less investing] [more debt + less savings + less investing = more labor & less giving]
The less money we borrow the less interest we pay to others, the more we can save, the more we can invest, the more our money pays us, which ultimately translates into less necessary labor and a greater ability to give.
A slave could voluntarily decide to stay as a slave
Deut. 15:16-17 16 But if your servant says to you, “I do not want to leave you,” because he loves you and your family and is well off with you, 17 then take an awl and push it through his earlobe into the door, and he will become your servant for life. Do the same for your female servant.
When a slave was freed, he was to receive gifts that enabled him to survive economically
Deut. 15:14 14 Supply them liberally from your flock, your threshing floor and your winepress. Give to them as the Lord your God has blessed you.
A Hebrew slave could become free after six years of service
Exodus 21:2 2 “If you buy a Hebrew servant, he is to serve you for six years. But in the seventh year, he shall go free, without paying anything
Deut 15:12 12 If any of your people—Hebrew men or women—sell themselves to you and serve you six years, in the seventh year you must let them go free
Released during the year of Jubilee
Lev. 25:47-50 47 “‘If a foreigner residing among you becomes rich and any of your fellow Israelites become poor and sell themselves to the foreigner or to a member of the foreigner’s clan, 48 they retain the right of redemption after they have sold themselves. One of their relatives may redeem them: 49 An uncle or a cousin or any blood relative in their clan may redeem them. Or if they prosper, they may redeem themselves. 50 They and their buyer are to count the time from the year they sold themselves up to the Year of Jubilee
Exodus 21:26-27 by marriage of the master’s son or if refused was then set free 7 “If a man sells his daughter as a servant, she is not to go free as male servants do. 8 If she does not please the master who has selected her for himself,[a] he must let her be redeemed. He has no right to sell her to foreigners, because he has broken faith with her. 9 If he selects her for his son, he must grant her the rights of a daughter. 10 If he marries another woman, he must not deprive the first one of her food, clothing and marital rights. 11 If he does not provide her with these three things, she is to go free, without any payment of money. due to injury and by purchasing his own freedom (Lev. 25:47).
An escaped slave was not to be returned as was property
Deut. 23:15–16 15 If a slave has taken refuge with you, do not hand them over to their master. 16 Let them live among you wherever they like and in whatever town they choose. Do not oppress them.
The slave was a member of the master’s household
Lev. 22:11 11 But if a priest buys a slave with money, or if slaves are born in his household, they may eat his food.
Are required to rest on the Sabbath
Exodus 20:10 10 but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns.
Deut. 5:14 14 but the seventh day is a sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, neither you, nor your son or daughter, nor your male or female servant, nor your ox, your donkey or any of your animals, nor any foreigner residing in your towns, so that your male and female servants may rest, as you do
A slave could inherit property
Genesis 15:2-3 2 But Abram said, “Sovereign Lord, what can you give me since I remain childless and the one who will inherit[a] my estate is Eliezer of Damascus?” 3 And Abram said, “You have given me no children; so a servant in my household will be my heir.
Be in control of entire households
Gen. 24:2 2 He said to the senior servant in his household, the one in charge of all that he had, “Put your hand under my thigh
Were sometimes trusted advisors
1 Sam. 9:5-10 5 When they reached the district of Zuph, Saul said to the servant who was with him, “Come, let’s go back, or my father will stop thinking about the donkeys and start worrying about us.”
6 But the servant replied, “Look, in this town there is a man of God; he is highly respected, and everything he says comes true. Let’s go there now. Perhaps he will tell us what way to take.”
7 Saul said to his servant, “If we go, what can we give the man? The food in our sacks is gone. We have no gift to take to the man of God. What do we have?”
8 The servant answered him again. “Look,” he said, “I have a quarter of a shekel[a] of silver. I will give it to the man of God so that he will tell us what way to take.” 9 (Formerly in Israel, if someone went to inquire of God, they would say, “Come, let us go to the seer,” because the prophet of today used to be called a seer.)
10 “Good,” Saul said to his servant. “Come, let’s go.” So they set out for the town where the man of God was.
The treatment of slaves was not to be severe
Lev. 25:43 43 Do not rule over them ruthlessly, but fear your God.
Lev 25:53 53 They are to be treated as workers hired from year to year; you must see to it that those to whom they owe service do not rule over them ruthlessly.
A master who punished his slave who then died, was to be punished himself possibly with death
Exodus 21:20 20 “Anyone who beats their male or female slave with a rod must be punished if the slave dies as a direct result,
Slaves were considered as a form property
Lev 25:46 46 You can bequeath them to your children as inherited property and can make them slaves for life, but you must not rule over your fellow Israelites ruthlessly
Ex 21:32 32 If the bull gores a male or female slave, the owner must pay thirty shekels[a] of silver to the master of the slave, and the bull is to be stoned to death.
Not in the strictest sense
Lev 25:39-42 39 “If any of your fellow Israelites become poor and sell themselves to you, do not make them work as slaves. 40 They are to be treated as hired workers or temporary residents among you; they are to work for you until the Year of Jubilee. 41 Then they and their children are to be released, and they will go back to their own clans and to the property of their ancestors. 42 Because the Israelites are my servants, whom I brought out of Egypt, they must not be sold as slaves.
Since escaped slaves were not to be returned as property
Deut. 23:15–16 15 If a slave has taken refuge with you, do not hand them over to their master. 16 Let them live among you wherever they like and in whatever town they choose. Do not oppress them.
Kidnapping someone to make them a slave was prohibited
Amos 1:6 6 This is what the Lord says: “For three sins of Gaza, even for four, I will not relent. Because she took captive whole communities and sold them to Edom,
Punishable by death
Deut. 24:7 7 If someone is caught kidnapping a fellow Israelite and treating or selling them as a slave, the kidnapper must die. You must purge the evil from among you
Exod. 21:16 16 “Anyone who kidnaps someone is to be put to death, whether the victim has been sold or is still in the kidnapper’s possession.

Let’s Dive into the numerous blood types by ethnicity.
The below statistics prove that O-positive blood type is a hot commodity if you need a blood transfusion or organ transplant. O-positive blood type can be used with any blood type.
In living donation, the following blood types are compatible:
Donors with blood type A… can donate to recipients with blood types A and AB
Donors with blood type B… can donate to recipients with blood types B and AB
Donors with blood type AB… can donate to recipients with blood type AB only
Donors with blood type O… can donate to recipients with blood types A, B, AB and O (O is the universal donor: donors with O blood are compatible with any other blood type)
So,
Recipients with blood type O… can receive a kidney from blood type O only
Recipients with blood type A… can receive a kidney from blood types A and O
Recipients with blood type B… can receive a kidney from blood types B and O
Recipients with blood type AB… can receive a kidney from blood types A, B, AB and O (AB is the universal recipient: recipients with AB blood are compatible with any other blood type)
Human Trafficking is also known as modern-day slavery.
Review some motives of perpetrators
“Researchers and advocates alike are trying to understand why African American victims are overrepresented in human trafficking. Some argue that the demand for African Americans is higher than the demand for other races.
Others suggest that because African American men abduct and traffic the highest percentage of America’s human trafficking victims, the traffickers have more connections to African American victims and operate more comfortably in low-income African American communities where many victims live.
Equally as disturbing is that the traffickers interviewed for a recent Urban Institute study overwhelmingly believed that trafficking white women would make them more money, but trafficking black women would land them less jail time if caught. What is more, these traffickers are more than likely selling the services of, their victims to affluent and highly regarded Caucasian men”
Central Texas African-American Family Support Conference works closely with the department of justice to combat some of these issues with human trafficking.
Let’s dive deep into this article >>>> Human Trafficking: Black Girls Are Still Enslaved
Amos 3:3 Can two walk together, unless they are agreed?
Palermo Protocol, organ trafficking is placed under the definition of human trafficking. The Protocol states that human trafficking is, “the recruitment, transportation, transfer, harboring or receipt of persons, by means of the threat or use of force or other forms of coercion, of abduction, of fraud, of deception, of the abuse of power or of a position of vulnerability or of the giving or receiving of payments or benefits to achieve the consent of a person having control over another person, for the purpose of exploitation. Exploitation shall include, at a minimum…the removal of organs.”
the United States alone there were 123,175 people waiting for lifesaving organ transplants and approximately 101,170 of these people were waiting for kidney transplants.[3] To put this further into perspective, in 2013 only 16,896 kidney transplants took place in the United States and 4,453 people died while waiting for a kidney transplant.[4] It is little wonder then that according to the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2010 approximately ten percent of all transplanted kidneys worldwide were illegally obtained and approximately 10,000 black market operations involving purchased organs take place annually.[5] People, mostly from wealthy developed countries, seeking donor organs will pay upwards of $200,000 while the donors, mostly from poorer developing nations, themselves might if they are lucky receive less than $5,000 of that.[6] With vast sums available to be made for organ traffickers and with supply and demand driving the black market, organ trafficking becomes an extremely difficult problem to deal with.

Ephesians 1:4-5 “even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption to himself as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will,”
James 1.27 “Religion that is pure and undefiled before God the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.”
What does it mean to be unstained from the world?
