For behold, I am raising up the Chaldeans, that bitter and hasty nation, who march through the breadth of the earth, to seize dwellings not their own.
According to an Article by Cherry (2023), she discusses, “What is Perception” and “Consciousness in Psychology” from two different perspectives of psychology.
I wanted to break this down for everyone in laymen’s terms to understand better what is happening from a psychological perspective of “perception”.
- Environmental stimulus: Being able to understand the world and how things are around you.
- Attended stimulus: Your ability to focus on specific attributes.
- Image on the retina: This is the curated science of understanding perception through your eyes.
- Transduction: This is also the curated science behind the signals of what is happening in your brain as you perceive things around you and through your experiences.
- Neural processing: This is how your perception transmits information to the senses in your perception, such as touch, sight, smell, hearing, and others.
- Perception is how you understand things through your experiences and consciousness.
- Recognition: This is the science of how your brain distributes information into categories. How do you perceive a cheater thief or define love?
- Action: How to react and act to what you perceive in your consciousness, experiences, and perceptions.
According to Cherry (2023), consciousness influences thoughts, memories, feelings, sensations, and environments.
My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge. “Because you have rejected knowledge, I also reject you as my priests; because you have ignored the law of your God, I also will ignore your children.
The Lord gave me confirmation to better understand perceptions, discernment, influences, and understandings:
- Co-perception is your consciousness in your mind.
- Minds are being led by your perception.
- Discernment influences the way you perceive things and your abilities to have discernment.
- Decisions are inspired by influences and motivations
- Actions and reactions is navigated by your perception.
Please chime in to Women’s Health Podcast and blog below:
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.
The Greek word above for Knowledge in the above scripture is strongs number 1922 and is “epignosis” which can be pronounced as “ep-ig’-no-sis” and is defined to have full discernment, and acknowledgement.
Only the LORD give thee wisdom and understanding, and give thee charge concerning Israel, that thou mayest keep the law of the LORD thy God.
The Hebrew word above for “Wisdom” is “sekel” and can be pronounced as “seh’-kel” is is also defined as intelligence; by implication, success:–discretion, knowledge, policy, prudence, sense, understanding, wisdom, wise.
Judge not, that ye be not judged.
The Hebrew word above for “Judged” can be defined differently according to two Strongs Concordance’s, “Bible Hub” and “Strongs Concordance.org”.
- Bible Hub Judged Strongs #8199 and is “Shaphat” (Simple and User Friendly)
acting like a judge (1), already he is acting (1), argue our case (1), decide (1), defend (3), deliver (1), Dispense (1), enter into judgment (6), entered into judgment (1), entering into judgment (1), execute judgment (1), executing judgment (1), freed (2), handed down (1), has a controversy (1), Judge (5), judge (93), judged (22), judges (36), judges decide (1), judges governed (1), judges…judged (1), judging (5), plead (1), pleads (1), pronounce judgment (1), rule (2), rulers (1), rulers…ruled (1), vindicate (6).

- Now You can view the definition for “Judge” , not the word “Judged” below
Judge — (Heb. shophet, pl. shophetim), properly a magistrate or ruler, rather than one who judges in the sense of trying a cause. This is the name given to those rulers who presided over the affairs of the Israelites during the interval between the death of Joshua and the accession of Saul (Judg. 2:18), a period of general anarchy and confusion. “The office of judges or regents was held during life, but it was not hereditary; neither could they appoint their successors. Their authority was limited by the law alone, and in doubtful cases, they were directed to consult the divine King through the priest by Urim an Thummim (Num. 27:21). Their authority extended only over those tribes by whom they had been elected or acknowledged. There was no income attached to their office, and they bore no external marks of dignity. The only cases of direct divine appointment are those of Gideon and Samson, and the latter stood in the peculiar position of having been from before his birth ordained to begin to deliver Israel.’ Deborah was called to deliver Israel but was already a judge. Samuel was called by the Lord to be a prophet but not a judge, which ensued from the high gifts the people recognized as dwelling in him; and as to Eli, the office of judge seems to have devolved naturally or rather ex officio upon him.” Of five of the judges, Tola (Judg. 10:1), Jair (3), Ibzan, Elon, and Abdon (12:8-15), we have no record at all beyond the bare fact that they were judges. Sacred history is not the history of individuals but of the kingdom of God in its onward progress.
Fundamentally, it is essential to understand the scriptures from the Concordance of either Strongs. However, clearly, “StrongsConcordance.org” make it difficult to find and understand a word like wisdom. I have also noticed a few times that some words may change over time with them. Primarily, since they are considered a dictionary in layman’s terms to demystify Hebrew and Greek lexicon numbers and words, one would assume that they would make the process more efficient and effective for research. The definition for “Judge”, is not the word “Judged” that was typed into their system. It would be nice if organizations like Strongs Concordance would collaborate to help each other.
For instance, you can notice that according to “StrongsConcordance.org” the word Judge is (Heb. shophet, pl. shophetim) which is slightly different from Bible Hub Judged Strongs #8199 and is “Shaphat”. There should be no reason for organizations that provide knowledge for others to interpret God’s word without working together. Amen. Let’s Pray that God intervenes and allows them to collaborate to deliver God’s word to children with love, Amen.
Father God, we come boldly before your throne of grace and ask for you to intervene and allow the interpreters of Hebrew and Greek to collaborate by collaborating to deliver your interpretation of your word to everyone who desires to understand it. God, we appreciate you and thank you in advance for answering our prayers for Bible Hub and StrongsConcordance.org to collaborate effectively and efficiently together in the name of Jesus Christ; it is sealed in your atonement blood. Amen.
In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’ “
Let’s examine some cognitive biases from a strategic growth business advisor>>> here.
Pursue love, and earnestly desire the spiritual gifts, especially that you may prophesy. For one who speaks in a tongue speaks not to men but to God; for no one understands him, but he utters mysteries in the Spirit. On the other hand, the one who prophesies speaks to people for their upbuilding and encouragement and consolation. The one who speaks in a tongue builds up himself, but the one who prophesies builds up the church. Now I want you all to speak in tongues, but even more to prophesy. The one who prophesies is greater than the one who speaks in tongues, unless someone interprets, so that the church may be built up
A clash of your thoughts, beliefs, and opinions, according to Cherry (2023), indicates in an article that she discusses to reduce conflict, reduction strategies, and some major health concerns regarding cognitive dissonance >>> here.
God determines the level of mercy that God gives you. There is nothing that you can do that you can do to influence God when he has mercy on you. You can do nothing to influence God when He is determined to harden your heart. Some people do not understand why God gives mercy to some and hardens the hearts of some. Listen to the podcast at the end of the blog to learn why God Hardens the heart.
15 For he says to Moses,
“I will have mercy on whom I have mercy,
and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.”[a]
16 It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God’s mercy. 17 For Scripture says to Pharaoh: “I raised you up for this very purpose, that I might display my power in you and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.”[b] 18 Therefore God has mercy on whom he wants to have mercy, and he hardens whom he wants to harden.
19 One of you will say to me: “Then why does God still blame us? For who is able to resist his will?” 20 But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God? “Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it, ‘Why did you make me like this?’”[c] 21 Does not the potter have the right to make out of the same lump of clay some pottery for special purposes and some for common use?
22 What if God, although choosing to show his wrath and make his power known, bore with great patience the objects of his wrath—prepared for destruction? 23 What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory— 24 even us, whom he also called, not only from the Jews but also from the Gentiles? 25 As he says in Hosea:
“I will call them ‘my people’ who are not my people;
and I will call her ‘my loved one’ who is not my loved one,”[d]
26 and,
“In the very place where it was said to them,
‘You are not my people,’
there they will be called ‘children of the living God.’”[e]
27 Isaiah cries out concerning Israel:
“Though the number of the Israelites be like the sand by the sea,
only the remnant will be saved.
28 For the Lord will carry out
his sentence on earth with speed and finality.”[f]
29 It is just as Isaiah said previously:
“Unless the Lord Almighty
had left us descendants,
we would have become like Sodom,
we would have been like Gomorrah.”[g]
Israel’s Unbelief
30 What then shall we say? That the Gentiles, who did not pursue righteousness, have obtained it, a righteousness that is by faith; 31 but the people of Israel, who pursued the law as the way of righteousness, have not attained their goal. 32 Why not? Because they pursued it not by faith but as if it were by works. They stumbled over the stumbling stone. 33 As it is written:
“See, I lay in Zion a stone that causes people to stumble
and a rock that makes them fall,
and the one who believes in him will never be put to shame.”
The secrets of God’s word are revealed to us that believe in Him, Amen. Remember to ask God for what you want to understand and perceive in His word, and He will reveal the truth to you according to Matthew 7:7.
The secret things belong to the LORD our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.
According to Lieff MD (2014), mentions in an article on the human brain. The article indicates the impact of prejudice and stereotypes residing in the brain >>> here.
Examples of biases can be listened to on podcast at the end of this blog.
The video above and the video below can have some contradicting understandings. It is important to note that many forms of cognitive biases are formed from ideas generated from thoughts, beliefs, and opinions.
The video above might be hilarious to some and offensive to others. On the contrary, the video below depicts an understanding that cognitive biases can cause negative perceptions about people regardless of their race, religion, or sex. Whereas, in contrast, God gives us all free will to choose Him. Just because you don’t agree with my thoughts, beliefs, and opinions does not mean that it is correct to judge you. People must understand that God gives us free will. With free will, it will determine if we spend eternal life with God or in Hell. Your soul is the most important thing that you should be concerned about.
The breath you breathe is invisible, including air and gravity is also invisible. Therefore, if the very thing that depends on your survival is invisible, why do people not focus on things in the spiritual realm?
What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?
Anti-social behavior is linked to social capital and emotional stability to generate social capital. Identifying should not be based on beauty as it can lead to ugly intentions. Attractive people have the best personalities because even when they are wrong, they are right according to society’s perception; this can be a cognitive illusion. Cognitive illusion can be best defined as overgeneralizing facts where a person believes that because of their experience, they compare all events, people, and circumstances to be that way.
In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.
- How do you feel about your previous relationships?
- How have your past relationships impacted your current relationships and friendships?
- In what ways do your love life affect other areas of your life?
Misogyny is having a hatred or mistrust for women. You might ask, “Why would anyone hate women”, usually formulated by men who experienced some trauma from a female figure or woman.
Misandry is having a hatred or mistrust for men, a bad opinion of men, and prejudice against men usually because of experiences or perceptions.
Likewise, men should treat their wives as their own bodies that they lovingly care for and take care of. No man goes in the corner and beats himself up, instead, he feeds himself when he is hungry and drinks water when he is thirsty. In the same way, he should care for his wife as he cares for himself.
In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself.

There are so many stereotypes in this world. For instance, the above scripture references the Chaldeans a bitter and hasty nation. However, although they were considered a bitter and hasty nation God still blessed Abraham.
The Real Story of Abraham
Abraham was Terah’s son, originally a Chaldean, who was black in Genesis 11:31 and Genesis 15:7, who was given the promised land.
Chaldean is located in Iraq today; it is known as southern Babylonian. According to “Got Questions“, who gives a demystified analysis of the Chaldeans here.
According to Henry Kwadwo Amoako (2022), “The Chaldeans of Babylon and The Black-Headed Sumerians”. The first writings from ancient Babylon originated from Sumerians and Babylon (now Iraq) which were pagan polytheistic religions that went against the principles of God.:
11 But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you.
Ancient Chaldeans were black, which would make sense being that Sarah chose her maidservant who was also black. There were relics of prehistoric Blacks discovered in the region, whose earliest civilization was Sumerians, described in Babylonian inscriptions as Black-faced people. The mainland of the Chaldeans was in southern Mesopotamia and included the city of Babylon.
Therefore, Abraham was considered a foreigner because he was a Chaldean.
The Lord had said to Abram, “Go from your country, your people and your father’s household to the land I will show you. I will make you into a great nation, and I will bless you; I will make your name great and you will be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you, I will curse; and all peoples on earth will be blessed through you
The word “Nation” is Strongs #1471, which means “gowy” in Hebrew and is pronounced “go’-ee” and means a “foreign nation, a gentile, heathen, people”. What this means is that God is going to make a foreign nation come from the descendants of Abraham.
Then the Lord said to him, “Know for certain that for four hundred years your descendants will be strangers in a country not their own and that they will be enslaved and mistreated there. 14 But I will punish the nation they serve as slaves, and afterward, they will come out with great possessions. 15 You, however, will go to your ancestors in peace and be buried at a good old age. 16 In the fourth generation, your descendants will come back here, for the sin of the Amorites has not yet reached its full measure.” 17 When the sun had set and darkness had fallen, a smoking firepot with a blazing torch appeared and passed between the pieces. 18 On that day the Lord made a covenant with Abram and said, “To your descendants I give this land, from the Wadi[e] of Egypt to the great river, the Euphrates— 19 the land of the Kenites, Kenizzites, Kadmonites, 20 Hittites, Perizzites, Rephaites, 21 Amorites, Canaanites, Girgashites and Jebusites.
Ishmael, Abraham’s son, born from Sarah’s maidservant Hagar, was an Egyptian woman according to Genesis 16.
Ishmael’s Sons
12 This is the account of the family line of Abraham’s son Ishmael, whom Sarah’s slave, Hagar the Egyptian, bore to Abraham.
13 These are the names of the sons of Ishmael, listed in the order of their birth: Nebaioth the firstborn of Ishmael, Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam, 14 Mishma, Dumah, Massa, 15 Hadad, Tema, Jetur, Naphish and Kedemah. 16 These were the sons of Ishmael, and these are the names of the twelve tribal rulers according to their settlements and camps. 17 Ishmael lived a hundred and thirty-seven years. He breathed his last and died, and he was gathered to his people. 18 His descendants settled in the area from Havilah to Shur, near the eastern border of Egypt, as you go toward Ashur. And they lived in hostility toward[b] all the tribes related to them.
Therefore, God gave parts of Egypt to Abraham’s descendants, in
addition, to the promised land. God would bless blacks to inherit the
promised land as a foreign people.
Bringing an end to this long controversy of God’s people being another race other than “black”. Primarily, to combat dogmatism which is opinion vs. facts. All facts were analyzed that support evidentiary claims that the “chosen people” of Abraham’s descendants are indeed “Black.” You must ask God to reveal to you by giving you an understanding of the interpretation of Revelation 3:9 below.
9 Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews, and are not, but do lie; behold, I will make them to come and worship before thy feet, and to know that I have loved thee.
Ishmael also had an Egyptian wife according to scriptures Genesis 21:8-21. Ishmael grew to mock them and Sarah wanted him out in Genesis 21:9-21. The attitude of Ishmael caused Abraham to banish him. The Ishmaelites later became enemies of Israel.
Edom, Ishmael, Amalek, Moab, Ammon, Philistia, Tyre, and Assyria are people who are enemies of Israel. The cities that they occupy are Lebanon, Syria, Turkey, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, United Arab Emirates, Jordan, Egypt, Libya, Sudan, Morocco, Tunisia, and Palestine.
Let’s Shift into the Discussion of Hebrews also called Israelites
Hebrew is a name given to the Israelites by other people.
Hebrew refers to Abraham and is listed and recorded as the Habir people in Egypt in the 12th and 13th century.
There is no letter J in Greek or Hebrew. The Greek Text and Hebrew scrolls and Hebrew scrolls are also called “Dead Sea scrolls”. The Hebrew scrolls are comprised of the Hebrew Bible.
Therefore, in order to interpret the Hebrew scrolls, one must rely on scholars who can interpret the ancient language of Hebrew to understand the word of God.
This means “Joshua” and “Jesus” are the same names. One name is translated from Hebrew into English, the other from Greek into English. It is also interesting to note that the names “Joshua” and “Isaiah” read in Hebrew are essentially the same names in Hebrew. They mean “savior” and “The Lord (Yah) Is Salvation”
Let’s Dive Deeper
The “Truth”
HAPIRU hä’ bĭ rōō. A people known as “habiru” or “hapiru” appear in cuneiform texts dated from the 20th to the 18th century b.c. in southern Mesopotamia, Asia Minor, and in the Haran and Mari areas. are identical to the Biblical Hebrews. That is a more inclusive name than Israelite is evident from the fact that Eber (Gen 10:24), a son of Shelah and a grandson of Shem, for whom the Hebrews are named, lived eight generations before Jacob (Israel) for whom the Israelites are named. In this sense all Israelites are iberi, “Hebrews,” but all Hebrews need not be Israelites.
What this means is that there are Hebrews outside the established social order of Israelites in the non-biblical text are mercenaries who are Motivated solely by a desire for monetary or material gain. as in the text from Babylon. Letters from Abdi-Hiba of Jerusalem to Akhenaton of Egypt complain that the habiru were posing a threat to the status quo in Canaan. Some scholars see in these references the Canaanite version of the conquest of Canaan under Joshua.
There is absolutely no relationship between Habiru also called Apiru and the Messianic Hebrew Jews of Judaism. Those Hebrews are some of the world elitists and believe that they will enter the Kingdom of God by their FLAWED works and DEEDS all the while denouncing Jesus.
Therefore, I want you to know that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.

Let’s discuss and understand stereotypes a little deeper
Stereotype can best defined as an inference we have of different persons and groups regarding their characteristics, attributes, and abilities that we assume all members of that group may ascertain or possess.
Let’s Shift focus on athletes and how they dominate sports regarding stereotypical behavior around the world.
In an article, “The Impact of Stereotype Threat on Performance in Sports” explores the negative and positive impacts that can interfere in the performance of athletes.
According to author Andrea Jones that discusses that males do not belong in women’s sports indicate that it shows a denial of science and unfairness to women.
In addition, to author Angie Kirk that indicates, “Men in women sports create unfair sex-based disadvantage for women.”
According ESPN they have listed the to transgender laws by state:
Let’s focus on the on the different types of stereotypes
In an article, ” The 9 Types of Stereotypes” discusses the different types of stereotypes that include:
- Gender
Wives, in the same way submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, 2 when they see the purity and reverence of your lives. 3 Your beauty should not come from outward adornment, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. 4 Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight. 5 For this is the way the holy women of the past who put their hope in God used to adorn themselves. They submitted themselves to their own husbands, 6 like Sarah, who obeyed Abraham and called him her lord. You are her daughters if you do what is right and do not give way to fear
Husbands, in the same way be considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect as the weaker partner and as heirs with you of the gracious gift of life, so that nothing will hinder your prayers.
- Race
Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize
But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.
- Age
Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.
I thought, ‘Age should speak; advanced years should teach wisdom.’
- Social-class
Rich and poor have this in common: The LORD is the Maker of them all.
2 “The teachers of the law and the Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat. 3 So you must be careful to do everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach. 4 They tie up heavy, cumbersome loads and put them on other people’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.5 “Everything they do is done for people to see: They make their phylacteriesa] wide and the tassels on their garments long; 6 they love the place of honor at banquets and the most important seats in the synagogues; 7 they love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and to be called ‘Rabbi’ by others.
- (Dis)ability)
2 His disciples asked him, “Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?” 3 “Neither this man nor his parents sinned,” said Jesus, “but this happened so that the works of God might be displayed in him. 4 As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming, when no one can work.
18 “Cursed is anyone who leads the blind astray on the road. ”Then all the people shall say, “Amen!” 19 “Cursed is anyone who withholds justice from the foreigner, the fatherless or the widow.” Then all the people shall say, “Amen!”
- Nationality
26 So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.
If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
- Political
Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. 4 For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience. 6 This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. 7 Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.
- Religious
“Beware of the teachers of the law. They like to walk around in flowing robes and love to be greeted with respect in the marketplaces and have the most important seats in the synagogues and the places of honor at banquets. 47 They devour widows’ houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. These men will be punished most severely.”
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
Let’s Shift focus and discuss microaggressions.
How do we define microaggressions?
A microaggression can best be defined as an intentional or unintentional statement, remark, or opinion about a marginalized group(s), individual(s), or culture(s) of people.
Microaggression statements
- “Only poor people need God;”
- “I have a black friend I cannot be racist;”
- Having a black friend does not exempt a person from being racist. The majority of all whites have or know someone that is racist in their list of family members, friends, associates, or colleagues.
- “I don’t see color”
- It is impossible to not see color. Race is diverse and innately similar. For people to say that they do not see color is a way to ignore and bandage racism as if it does not exist. In my opinion, people that do things like that are enabling racism, discrimination, and prejudice to continue to thrive.
- “All lives matter not just black lives”
- No one stated that all lives did not matterFor this reason, saying that all lives matter is a way to take the emphasis off the fact that ‘blacks’ are always being oppressed by racism, discrimination, and prejudice.
- Saying ‘All Lives Matter” is a deterrent to once again not acknowledging the racial prejudice, discrimination, and racism that blacks are experiencing.
According to authors DePrince, A. P., Chu, A. T., & Brand, B. L. (2024) discuss trauma topics that attenuate diverse populations of marginalized people. Making the connection between microaggressions and traumas through intersectionality. Fundamentally, the correlations of microaggressions and trauma are due to negative experiences of discrimination, including but not limited to several triggering events that cause the emergence of memories to be relived. It discusses the lack of people being able to heal from past traumas and how they may also internalize negative emotions due to hopelessness, despair, and a range of other problems that contribute to traumatic events. The book is a part of the Brand (2024) “Concise Guides on Trauma Care” Series forward.
For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.
Combating microaggressions is not very difficult to do, although it might put you in the spotlight. It shows you are bold enough to stand up for what is right. Micro-positive impact can take place with micro-interventionist skills. According to Reader’s Digest, there are several ways to overcome microaggressions:
Microaggression: You speak excellent English!!!
Response to Microaggression: “Thank you, I hope so! I was born here.”
Microaggression: Where are you really from?
Response to Microaggression: Only true Americans look like me, where are you from?
Microaggression: You’re pretty for a black girl.
Response to Microaggression: You’re pretty for a white girl.
Microaggression: You’re pretty for a black girl.
Response to Microaggression: You’re pretty for a white girl.
“I know you meant that to be funny, but I found it offensive,”
Simply saying “That’s a stereotype” or “That’s a microaggression,” can effectively call attention to the perpetrator.
36 Then Jesus went with his disciples to a place called Gethsemane, and he said to them, “Sit here while I go over there and pray.” 37 He took Peter and the two sons of Zebedee along with him, and he began to be sorrowful and troubled. 38 Then he said to them, “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.”
39 Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed, “My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will.”
40 Then he returned to his disciples and found them sleeping. “Couldn’t you men keep watch with me for one hour?” he asked Peter. 41 “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
42 He went away a second time and prayed, “My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done.”
43 When he came back, he again found them sleeping, because their eyes were heavy. 44 So he left them and went away once more and prayed the third time, saying the same thing.
45 Then he returned to the disciples and said to them, “Are you still sleeping and resting? Look, the hour has come, and the Son of Man is delivered into the hands of sinners. 46 Rise! Let us go! Here comes my betrayer!”
According to The Zuckerman Institute at Columbia University (2018), indicates that people can change their pre-existing biases and beliefs when new information surfaces that contradict those biases. The study found that the brain can apply logic and reason to avoid pre-existing biases and beliefs.
